From Denny: Have you been enjoying the Washington soap opera lately - known as The Government Shutdown? The word is that sometime tonight Speaker Boehner will finally do his job and allow the full House to vote on the bill to end this idiot shutdown and reopen the government.

Of course, there are conservative groups still urging members to vote against raising the country's debt ceiling to avoid default. Those same groups also don't want the government reopened. No one said groups like Club For Growth were smart enough to understand the global implications of such a screamingly stupid strategy...

The Social Poets: Funny Jon Stewart, Colbert React to Republican Debates: From Denny: Only Jon Stewart could dissect this crazy GOP line-up, revealing true agendas. When he goes after Michele Bachmann for her idea of mothering it sure is a left field what she says.

You expect her to comment on how raising five biological children and 23 foster children she would opine upon parenting skills in the area of how they needed lots of love and daily structure. Nope. What she says is "children need jobs." No kidding.

What I found most disheartening about her quote about children of poverty - from a over a year ago - is when she commented about how the poor should raise themselves up on their own, without government help - ever.

"Hunger is a great motivator." From that day forward I always wondered if she had starved any of those foster children to force them to do what she demanded.

Dennys: News Politics Comedy Science Arts & Food: Jon Stewart Lampoons Debt Ceiling Talks and Brainless Commentators: "From Denny: Only Michelle Bachmann, who is weirdly running for president, misspoke yet again. Obviously, her handler is not stuck to her like crazy glue for here is another bizarre gaffe. Who in the world doesn't know the Yiddish word for boldness? Jon Stewart goes off on her brainless commentary, probably with little ol' Jewish grannies in Florida nodding along with him in agreement.

Then there's Eric Cantor, who is in charge of the debt ceiling talks, so much so he acts like the Cock of the Walk. He loves to highlight on both Speaker Boehner and President Obama. He is an equal opportunity opportunist.

Obama finally threw up his hands in exasperation after Cantor kept interrupting Obama, three times no less, as he tried to end the meeting and schedule the next one. Will the real grown-up please stand up?"

Of course, what will really be interesting to watch over the next decade is just how much the gay population may decline. After all, if society soon legalizes all that is wicked, rebellious or taboo just how interesting will being gay continue to be? First, there is the Sarah Palin 'We The People' Bus Tour across America to show her patriotism.

Forget it the historic facts were spewed out wrong. Just keep rolling that bus while you collect wads of cash to stuff into your greedy pockets. It's amazing anyone gives her money as she promises illogical things and delivers air promises. When the press quotes her exactly everyone is still left scratching their heads, wondering what was she addressing as an issue and what was her solution.

Then we all got to snicker as Newt Gingrich got fired by his own campaign. Come on. Who fires their candidate? Yeah, it was that bad. Kind of makes you feel bad for the Republicans. OK, not enough to vote for any of them but still... Can you imagine trying to sell lipstick on the Newt Pig? That's one hard sell that not even Tiffany's jewelry could improve. It's no wonder they covered their faces like The Taliban and left town."

What's more, with all his fellow Democrats piling on, who is left to defend the hapless indefensible Weiner? Well, there is always fellow Congressman Charlie Rangel. Jon Stewart does a great Rangel imitation. Though Rangel does have several good points: 'He doesn't go with prostitutes. He hasn't molested little boys. He doesn't do a wide stance in an airport bathroom.' Well, yeah.

Of course, this week yet more naked photos of Weiner and his proud 'stance' were revealed, photos taken in the House members-only gym locker room. I wonder if those photos were from the security cameras that show Weiner taking pictures of his weener? Talk about strange."
